An Anti-Terrorism Court on Monday directed the police to arrest Pakistan Muslim League-N leader Marriyum Aurangzeb and produce her before the court in a case related to hate speech.

ATC Judge Abher Gul Khan passed the orders while hearing the case as the former federal minister failed to turn up before the court on this date of hearing. The judge directed the station house officer concerned to execute the arrest warrants promptly, and put off further hearing till December 9.

Marriyum Aurangzeb was booked along with MianJavedLatif, Sohail Khan (Managing Director of state-run Pakistan Television), and others, under charges of terrorism and making attempts to incite hatred by using religious sentiments against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan.

The charges against JavedLatif and Marriyum Aurangzeb alleged that they made contentious remarks under the influence of their party leadership, intending to spread religious animosity against the former prime minister.

In a previous hearing, the ATC judge revoked the non-bailable arrest warrant against JavedLatif after he appeared before the court.

Advocate Farhad Ali Shah, representing both JavedLatif and Marriyum Aurangzeb, appeared in court. When asked about the whereabouts of the PML-N leader, it was disclosed that Latif had appeared, while Aurangzeb had not.

At this, the judge issued a non-bailable arrest warrant for the former information minister and directed all the suspects involved in the case to present themselves before the court.
