The city police have launched a successful crackdown on street criminals, drug dealers and fugitives to curb crime in the city.
The police had arrested a total of more than 677 suspects during raids in Karachi’s East, West and South Zone last week.Police recovered more than 51 kg of high quality hashish and 1,050 grams of heroin worth lakhs of rupees from the possession of the arrested accused.
More than 76 different types of illegal weapons along with ammunition were seized from arrested street criminals used in looting and other incidents from citizens which have been sent for forensics. Last week, during the police anti-crime drive, four encounters took place in which five accused involved in looting civilians were arrested, while two dacoits were killed.
Anti-Vehicle Lifting Cell ( AVLC) Karachi arrested 18 accused of car lifting gang from different parts of the city and seized 18 stolen / snatched motorcycles.
