PML-N wins 3 of Kamra Cantt board election seats

The Pakistan Muslim league- N candidates won three out of five constituencies in Cantonment board Kamra election held on Wednesday. In ward one- Shah Jehan, in ward two- Chanzaib, in ward five Muhammad Saleem from PML-N won while in ward four Iftikhar Ahmed from JI won the election. The election was contested in four of the five consistencies as in constituency number three an independent candidate Mubashir Hameed was elected unopposed.

For four constituencies as many as 13 candidates have locked their horns who belong to PML-N, PPP and JI as the ruling PTI have not fielded their candidates as population from six different villages have boycotted the polling process over the disputed delimitation of the civic body.

The turnout was remain very low as most of the politicians and ruling PTI was out of the polling process and boycotted the election process.

The returning officer Muhammad Abdullah has informed media that to contest the polls, as many as 14 polling stations was formed in four constituencies among two were declared sensitive where 112 polling staff was appointed to carried out polling process. He informed that the number of registered voters are 12688 among them 5995 are female.
