Cases were registered against Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Member of Provincial Assembly (MPA) Mian Naveed Ali and other party leaders for violating the coronavirus-related standard operating procedures (SOPs) at a convention held for overseas Pakistanis at Pakpattan on Saturday.
Clauses related to Sound System Act were also inserted in the FIRs registered against the PML-N leaders, including Divisional General Secretary Youth Wing Abdul Qayyum Pomi.
The FIRs state that the SOPs were completely ignored at a gathering of around 1,400 to 1,500 people apart from the violation of the Sound System Act.
As per the situation with respect to coronavirus was concerned on Saturday (March 27), there was no let-up in the pandemic strikes across Pakistan, as another 67 people lost their lives whereas 4,468 fresh cases were reported during the last 24 hours (Friday), showed the figures released by the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC).
As per the latest NCOC statistics, after the addition of 67 more fatalities, the death toll has now surged to 14,158 while the number of total confirmed cases stood at 649,824, after adding the 4,468 new ones.
