ISLAMABAD – Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif embarked on a journey to the United Kingdom, where the premier will spend couple of days before traveling to the United States to attend UN General Assembly.
PM Shehbaz is slated to address UN Assembly later this month, in his second appearance at the United Nations. The 79th session of the General Assembly, which runs from September 24 to 30, is gathering over 130 world leaders.
In a message shared on his social media account, PM Shehbaz expressed his commitment to presenting Islamabad’s perspective on global issues at this significant event. He plans to focus his discussions with world leaders on themes such as promoting peace, sustainable development, and addressing climate change challenges.
Sharif also highlighted that he would showcase Pakistan’s initiatives to enhance and strengthen international partnerships during his engagements in New York.
The session comes at critical time, with rising tensions globally, particularly concerning ongoing conflicts in Palestine, Ukraine, and Sudan. United Nations will share updates about the list of speakers, reflecting any changes in attendance and schedules.
