Prime Minister Imran Khan on Wednesday ruled out any chances of reconciliation with the opposition parties.
No matter what opposition stages sit-ins or protests, I’ll never give National Reconciliation Ordinance to anyone, PM Khan said while talking to Chairman Senate Standing Committee on Information Senator Faisal Javed Khan and Senator Zeeshan Khanzada who called on him in Islamabad.
Hitting the opposition parties’ reunion, PM Khan said he has been saying from the very first day that the opposition is united only to save their corruption.
Meanwhile, chairing a meeting of government spokespersons, Prime Minister said that his government is not bothered by the PDM movement and it will not give any relief to the opposition parties.
The Prime Minister directed the spokespersons to highlight PML-N government’s Rs 2.5 billion expenditure in 2017’s NA-120 by-elections, aimed at helping former First Lady Kulsoom Nawaz win the election.
The spokespersons expressed concern over the rising inflation in the country. The Prime Minister said that steps were being taken to curb inflation and it would soon be brought under control. Raids are being carried out to fight hoarding, overpricing of grocery items, he added. He said that the government’s focus is on reducing inflation, improving the economy and ensuring consumer protection.
Talking about the opposition’s planned protests and rallies, Imran Khan said that this was not the first time they had come out to protect their thievery, all they want is relief in accountability cases, which we will never give. He said the government allowed opposition to hold rallies so that they cannot use the political revenge card in the future.
The Prime Minister said that even some of PTI’s candidates lost by very small margins. In Punjab, the opposition filed 11 election review petitions while PTI filed 13, we made a sincere offer to investigate election fraud but the opposition provided no evidence.
Chairing another high level meeting on the development needs of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, especially the merged areas on Wednesday, Prime Minister Imran Khan said the government was determined for uninterrupted development of merged tribal areas and all financial resources will be provided for the purpose.
