Plan to revamp Information Ministry, allied institutions: Akbar

Federal Information Secretary, Akbar Hussain Durrani, says Prime Minister Imran Khan’s led PTI government has initiated a comprehensive plan to revamp the Ministry of Information and all its allied institutions to meet the modern challenges in the field of media.
This he said while speaking at a briefing at Pakistan Broadcasting Academy during his visit to the campus on Tuesday. He said digitization and modernization of existing setup and equipment in the Ministry, Radio Pakistan, Pakistan Television and their academies is the major focus of revamping plan.
The Secretary Information directed to post the best of best professionals at the academies of state media organizations to upgrade their academic quality and impart the latest training to the young professionals in different fields. He called for chalking out a year long comprehensive chart of training workshops and refresher courses involving the leading universities and technical institutions and their faculties.
Akbar Hussain Durrani, said Ministry of Information would provide all possible facilities to Pakistan Broadcasting Academy to make it a vibrant training institution and a center of excellence.
He directed to ensure best possible use of all the infrastructure available at PBA. The Secretary Information expressed great pleasure over PBA’s self sufficiency in financial resources to conduct its training programmes across the year by generating revenue from its hostels.
