Pakistan Jamhoori League (PJL) has launched “Kala Bagh Dam Banao Mulk Bachao” campaign. Lawyers, business community, students, merchants and civil society have also been invited to participate in campaign.
Chief Justice of Pakistan has also been requested to take suo-motto notice on issue.
While addressing the workers along with Secretary Information Zaheem Hameed Gondal here on Sunday, Rana Zaman Saeed said that Pakistan is facing crisis of water security due to climate change and burgeoning population.
He said that in 2025, Pakistan will become water scarce country as per World Bank estimation.
Pakistan can only solve the crisis by building Kala Bagh Dam. He said it is no more issue of choice, but it has become national imperative for sustainable future of Pakistan.
“It is matter of death and life for Pakistan. Politicization of Kala Bagh issue is national enmity. Reports of World Bank and independent observers have already dismissed all frivolous objections on construction of Kala Bagh Dam,” he added.
Rana Zaman Saeed that the political parties must act as the vanguard of national interest by leaving political differences aside. This is demand of people of Pakistan. Anyone who will oppose this dam will become history.
We will unveil the malevolent agendas behind opposition to dam before the public.
He said, “I urged Chief Justice of Pakistan to take suo motto action because it is matter of prime public interest.
Constitution has endowed upon him great responsibility to expeditiously act for achieving national interest. Government should also act fast to build Kala Bagh Dam.”
