PIA evacuates 200 stranded Pakistanis from Malaysia

PIA special flight PK 895 (Islamabad- Kuala Lumpur) evacuates 200 Pakistani nationals stranded in Malaysia and Singapore a special Pakistan International Airline flight PK 895 (Islamabad-Kuala Lumpur) evacuated 200 Pakistani nationals stranded in Malaysia today, since 20 March, 2020. The flight also brought back 120 Malaysian and Singaporean nationals from Pakistan.
High Commissioner Ms Amna Baloch and the officers of the Mission sent off the 200 Pakistani passengers at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport. The passengers included the short term visitors, the destitute and the vulnerable who were facing hardship due to flight closure and lockdown in Malaysia.
Around 8 Pakistani nationals stranded in Singapore including 2 critical patients were also among those who were flown back. The plane also carried 4 dead bodies.
The special flight was arranged with the support of the Foreign Minister and the Government of Pakistan. It was part of initiative to operate17 special flights by PIA to bring back Pakistani nationals stranded across the world. The Pakistani nationals evacuated by PIA from Kuala Lumpur were profoundly thankful to the Government and High Commission for the repatriation and looking after them well.
Special arrangements were made for lodging and boarding of stranded Pakistani nationals passengers by the High Commission from 20 March till date.
Pakistan appreciates the generous support extended by the Malaysian Government particularly Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Immigration and KLIA in the repatriation of Pakistani nationals and the arrangements of the special flight.
