PESHAWAR – More rains and gusty winds are expected in Peshawar and parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Tuesday night and Wednesday (Ashura days).
Per the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), light to moderate monsoon currents from Arabian Sea and Bay of Bengal penetrate central and upper parts of Pakistan. A westerly wave prevails over upper parts of the country.
Under these weather conditions, more rains and gusty winds are expected at isolated places in Dir, Swat, Chitral, Kohistan, Shangla, Buner, Batgram, Abbottabad, Mansehra, Haripur, Khyber, Mohmand, Bajaur, Mardan, Peshawar, Kurram, Bannu, Kohat, Kirk and Waziristan on Tuesday night and Wednesday with occasional gaps. Hot and humid weather is expected elsewhere in the province.
Peshawar’s maximum temperature will likely remain between 36-38°C on Wednesday and 35-37°C on Thursday.
Meanwhile, hot and humid weather prevailed in most districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during the last 24 hours. However, rain-wind/thundershowers occurred at isolated places in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Bannu and Dera Ismail Khan remained the hottest places in the province where the maximum temperature was recorded at 42°C.
In Peshawar, maximum temperature was recorded at 38°C. Relative humidity during the evening was recorded at 37 per cent.
