PESHAWAR – The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast partly cloudy/cloudy weather with chances of rains, and snowfall over mountains for Peshawar and parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during the next two days.
According to the synoptic situation, a westerly wave is affecting the western and upper parts of Pakistan.
It will likely persist in the upper parts of the country during the next few days.
Under these conditions, cold and partly cloudy weather is expected in most districts of the province on Sunday evening/night, Monday and Tuesday.
However, rains with snowfall over mountains are likely in Chitral, Dir, Swat, Kohistan, Shangla, Buner, Malakand, Abbottabad, Balakot, Mansehra, Haripur, Swabi, Mardan, Peshawar, Charsadda, Nowshera, Mardan, Bajaur, Khyber, Kurram, Waziristan, Kohat and Bannu.
Snowfall may affect the transportation in the coming days.
Tourists are advised to be cautious.
Peshawar’s minimum temperature will likely remain between 03-05 degrees Celsius on Monday and 02-04 C on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, cold weather prevailed over most parts of the province during the last 24 hours
Kalam remained the coldest place in the province where mercury dropped 06 C below freezing.
In Peshawar, minimum temperature was recorded at 04 C.
Relative humidity during the morning was recorded at 74 per cent.
