Governor Sindh Imran Ismail has said that outgoing Consul General of Germany in Karachi Eugen Wollfarth has contributed a lot in further strengthening the Pak-German ties and people of Sindh will remember his active role for their welfare and wellbeing. This he said during a farewell call by Eugen Wollfarth at Governor House on Monday. Bilateral economic relations, conducive atmosphere of investment in Sindh and other matters of mutual interests were discussed in detail during the meeting. The Governor Sindh said that he has always found the CG willing to work for the betterment of the masses of the province of Sindh. He wished him every success for his future endeavours. Highlighting the steps taken by Federal Government for control of Covid-19, Imran Ismail said that Prime Minister Imran Khan advocated imposition of smart lockdown instead of complete shutdown from the very beginning. Now everyone has realised his farsightedness and vision by the success of smart lock down, he added. The Governor Sindh said that despite financial constraints due to Coronavirus, no new tax has been imposed in the budget and Federal Government was taking every step to improve country’s economy. He said that very conducive environment for investment was available in Sindh and as such investment in health and education, Agriculture and other fields by German investors would be welcomed and facilitated. The departing Consul General Eugen Wollfarth said that he was taking with him very pleasant memories of his stay in Karachi. He also appreciated the cooperation of Governor Sindh in performance of his duties. It is pertinent to mention here that Eugen Wollfarth has been nominated as Ambassador of Germany to Uruguay.
