LAHORE – Pakistan’s senior actress Resham has complained that people criticize her even for the good deeds she does with good intentions.
A video of actress Resham is viral on social media in which she is seen cooking food for charity and saying that she has been preparing and distributing charity food with her own hands for the past 20 years, and this has been going on continuously for the past 6 years, all 12 months.
Resham stated that earlier she managed to prepare one large pot of food and bread for 50,000 rupees, but now the same charity meal costs up to 150,000 rupees, and the quantity of food she distributes has tripled.
Resham said that it has been 15 years since she left her work in showbiz and films. She now occasionally does modeling and participates in some shows, and the income from these activities sustains her charity work.
The actress mentioned that she has made a promise to Allah that as long as she is alive, she will continue to distribute charity food.
Resham said that people criticize her work and suggest that instead, she should provide employment to people.
She remarked that who is she to feed people; it is God who feeds them. She mentioned that she has only one house in the entire world, and if she sells it to provide employment to others, she would end up living in a slum herself.
During the interview, Resham said that she does this work only for the pleasure of Allah.
“People accuse me of making the charity food with ill-gotten money, but I believe that it is up to Allah to decide,” she added.
