Head of the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman has said that the future strategy of the anti-government movement will be announced after its December 8 meeting among the alliance’s leaders.
Talking to media persons along with former prime minister Yousaf Raza Gillani in Multan, Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman said that people of Multan have rejected the selected government and sons of Yousaf Raza offered sacrifices and became victim of police brutality. He said that PDM defeated government and the movement will keep on working according to its schedule. He also ruled out any form of dialogue with the government.
Maulana Fazlur Rehman said that now they are eyeing December 13 public rally in Lahore. Fazlur Rehman reached the residence of former prime minister Yousuf Raza Gilani to congratulate him over a successful public rally in Multan, yesterday.
Fazlur Rehman claimed that Multan’s public rally remained successful and he thanked the masses for their support. He claimed that the government has lost its writ.
On the occasion, Yousaf Raza Gilani thanked Fazlur Rehman for visiting his residence and for cooperation from the PDM parties.
He said that PDM workers were arrested ahead of rally and were threatened to not attend the rally. He also thanked PDM leadership for
letting PPP host two out of six rallies of the anti-government alliance.
The PPP stalwart said that there was no light, no water, and other facilities at the jalsagah but the PDM held its public rally at
Ghanta Ghar Chowk. Pakistan Democratic Movement held a public rally in Multan on Monday and its supporters removed all
hurdles and entered Qilla Kohna Qasim Bagh. Meanwhile, the National Accountability Bureau has issued call-up notice to Jamiat
Ulema-e-Islam-F supremo Maulana Fazlur Rehman’s close aides while making progress in an investigation into corruption allegations on
Tuesday. Maulana Fazlur Rehman’s close aides including Gul Asghar and Noor Asghar have been summoned by NAB investigators on
December 10.
