LAHORE – Newly appointed Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi on Wednesday sought comprehensive details about the expenditures of the board.

The sources privy to the development said that the expenditures under scrutiny encompassed the various aspects including those related to the Pakistan cricket team, support staff, and the logistical arrangements for the matches.

The PCB’s annual budget and player compensations also came under scrutiny, with specific instructions issued to the Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to compile a detailed breakdown for presentation.

The latest reports suggested that Chairman Mohsin Naqvi aimed to juxtapose these expenditures against the performance of the Pakistan team, thereby gauging the fiscal efficiency and strategic allocation of the resources.

Naqvi will convene briefings with key board officials shortly, following which strategic initiatives for the future will be formulated based on the insights gathered from the expenditure analysis.

On Tuesday, he was elected unopposed as new chairman of the board among other contenders after he was nominated by Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar.
