Mohammad Amir asks public to must cast their votes tomorrow

ISLAMABAD- Pakistan cricket team’s former fast bowler Mohammad Amir on Wednesday asked the people to come out of their homes and cast votes on the election day tomorrow.

Taking X, Mohammad Amir said, “Do not forget to cast your vote on February 8; Pakistan’s future is in your hands,”. The general elections 2024 are due to take place on February 8.

During these elections, the public will choose their representatives in their respective constituencies.

As the election campaign across the country has come to an end, and the Election Commission has initiated the process of delivering electoral materials, the delivery and return of polling equipment have been entrusted to the soldiers Pakistan Army and other law enforcement agencies.

The polling equipment delivery will be completed by 6:00 PM.

For the general elections, a total of 1,490,000 election staff will be responsible for conducting the elections, and the non-final non-governmental election results for each constituency will be issued from the offices of Returning Officers.

According to the Election Commission of Pakistan, 906,675 polling stations and 266,398 polling booths have been established nationwide for the public to exercise their right to vote. More than 128.5 million people will be able to cast their votes in the general elections. In Punjab, 7,320,896 voters will exercise their right to vote for the 141 National Assembly and 297 Provincial Assembly seats.

In Sindh, 2,699,769 voters will choose their preferred candidates for the 61 National Assembly and 130 Provincial Assembly seats, while 1,083,029 voters from Islamabad will elect their representatives for the three National Assembly seats.

Similarly, in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 21,928,119 registered voters will be able to exercise their right to vote for the 45 National Assembly and 115 Provincial Assembly seats, while in Balochistan, 5,371,947 voters will cast their votes for the 16 National Assembly and 51 Provincial Assembly seats.

According to the Election Commission, 16,766 polling stations have been categorized as highly sensitive, while 29,985 have been designated as sensitive nationwide. The Pakistan Army has been deployed at highly sensitive polling stations to control the law-and-order situation.

Presiding officers at polling stations have been given the powers of first-class magistrates to control the security situation.
