Pakistan’s coronavirus positivity rate above 1pc

Pakistan has reported 8 deaths in the last 24 hours by novel coronavirus as the number of positive cases has surged to 1,296,527. The nationwide tally of fatalities has jumped to 28,941on Sunday. According to the latest figures by the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC) 594 persons tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 24 hours.

Punjab remains the worst-hit province in terms of deaths followed by Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Till now 13,073 individuals have lost their lives to the epidemic in Punjab, 7,673 in Sindh 5,932 in KP, 967 in Islamabad, 746 in Azad Kashmir, 364 in Balochistan, and 186 in GB. Furthermore 482,411 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Sindh, 445,228 in Punjab 181,430 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 108,720 in Islamabad, 34,665 in Azad Kashmir 33,644 in Balochistan and 10,429 in Gilgit-Baltistan.

Pakistan has so far conducted 23,469,131 coronavirus tests and 45,585 in the last 24 hours. 1,257,024 patients have recovered in the country whereas 637 patients are in critical condition.—INP
