MULTAN – On the second day of the first Test between Pakistan and England at the Multan Cricket Stadium, Pakistan continued their innings with six wickets down.

Pakistan, led by captain Shan Masood, won the toss and chose to bat first. At the close of the first day, Pakistan had posted 328 runs for the loss of four wickets, largely thanks to centuries by Shan Masood and Abdullah Shafique.

When play resumed on Tuesday, Saud Shakeel and Naseem Shah were at the crease.

However, Naseem was dismissed after scoring 33 runs, bringing Pakistan’s total to 388.

Shortly afterward, Mohammad Rizwan departed without contributing any runs.

The team’s score now stands at 393 with six wickets down, and Saud Shakeel and Salman Agha are currently batting.

Day one highlights:

Pakistan’s innings began with openers Abdullah Shafique and Saim Ayub, though Saim was dismissed early, scoring only 4 runs. Shafique and Masood then steadied the innings, with Shafique scoring 102 before being dismissed. Shan Masood played an outstanding knock, scoring 151 while Babar Azam added 30 runs before his departure.

Pakistan’s playing XI for the match includes Shan Masood (captain), Saud Shakeel, Babar Azam, Saim Ayub, Abdullah Shafique, Mohammad Rizwan, Salman Ali Agha, Aamir Jamal, Shaheen Afridi, Naseem Shah, and Abrar Ahmed.

The series consisted of three Tests, with the first two scheduled to take place in Multan.
