ISLAMABAD – The government of Pakistan will return around Rs1lac in refund to each pilgrim who performed Hajj 2024 under the state-run scheme.
An official of Pakistan Religious Affairs Ministry, who does not want to be named, confirmed the development to Pakistan Observer.
The development comes as Religious Affairs Minister Chaudhry Salik told lower house of parliament that Hujjaj will get Rs1lac refund in coming weeks.
Salik Hussain said this year’s Hajj expenses were lower than last year’s pilgrimage while thousands of rupees were saved on ticket fares.
Hajj 2024
Over 160,000 Pakistani pilgrims performed Hajj in 2024. Pakistan Hajj Mission hosted 70,000 of these pilgrims, while approximately 90,000 traveled with private Hajj operators.
