PESHAWAR – At least three terrorists were killed by security forces during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in the Datta Khel area of North Waziristan tribal district, the military’s media wing said Thursday.
In a statement, the Inter-Services Public Relations said three militants were killed during an intense exchange of fire with security forces. Officials launched an operation to clear the area after killing six terrorists in an IBO.
Forces also recovered weapons and ammunition from the deceased militants.
ISPR said local residents hailed the forces’ response and expressed full support to eliminate the menace of terrorism.
Pakistan Army earlier eliminated six militants in an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in a same region neighboring Afghanistan.
Pakistan forces vowed to thwart any attempt by inimical elements on the behest of Hostile Intelligence Agencies, to disrupt hard-earned peace in the province. Armed forces continued operations amid terror resurgence in Balochistan and KPK as TTP and other splinter groups escalated attacks after ending Afghan Taliban brokered cease fire.
