BULAWAYO – Pakistan thrashed Zimbabwe by 10 wickets in the second T2oI at Bulawayo on Tuesday to take unassailable 2-0 lead in the three match series.
Chasing a modest 58-run target for the victory, Pakistan crossed the finish line during the powerplay without losing any wicket. Saim Ayub scored 36 runs while his opening partner Omair Yousaf contributed 22. Sufiyan Muqeem was named player of the match.
After winning the toss and electing to bat first, Zimbabwe were all out at meagre 57 runs in 12.4 overs despite a solid 37-run opening partnership between Brian Bennett (21) and Tadiwanashe Marumani (16). Except the opening pair, no other batter could enter the double figures.
Sufiyan Muqeem bagged five wickets after conceding just three runs in his 2.4 overs. Abbas Afridi sent two batters back to the pavilion while Abrar Ahmed, Haris Rauf and Salman Agha took one wicket each.
