STAFF REPORTER KARACHI The death toll from novel coronavirus in Pakistan rose to six on Sunday, after the country reported its first death from Balochistan. Government’s spokesperson, Liaquat Shahwani confirmed the province’s first death from the virus in a tweet. The deceased was a 65-year-old man, under treatment at the Fatima Jinnah Chest Hospital, according to Shahwani. The number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Pakistan rose to 875 on Monday after new cases were reported throughout the country. Sindh remains the worst affected with a total of 400 cases, 42 new cases. In Karachi alone, the numbers of cases are 130 with the majority said to be cases of “local transmission”. I n Punjab, according to Chief Minister Punjab Usman Buzdar, there are 246 coronavirus cases so far. As of now, we have 225 confirmed cases of COVID19 DGK quarantine 175, Lahore 34, Gujrat 4, Gujranwala 4, Jhelum 3, Rawalpindi 2, Multan 2 & Sargodha has 1 patient. According to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa health department, the number of cases in the province stands at 38 after four new patients were reported, while the number of reported cases in GilgitBaltistan is 72. In Balochistan, the number of cases are 108, while one case has been reported from Azad Jammu and Kashmir. While in Islamabad, 15 patients have been confirmed to have contracted the virus. Meanwhile, five more members of a Tableeghi Jamaat in Islamabad’s Bhara Kahu area have tested positive for coronavirus, according to ASP Hamza Amanullah. A group of 13 people, including six foreigners, were sitting in tableegh in Kot Hathial, the official said, adding that one of the foreigners had tested positive for the coronavirus earlier
