Pakistan records workers’ remittances inflow of $2.9 billion in August 2024

KARACHI – Pakistan recorded workers’ remittances inflow of $2.9 billion during August 2024.

Per the data released by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) on Monday, workers’ remittances increased by 40.5 per cent on year on year basis.

Cumulatively, with inflow of $5.9 billion, workers’ remittances increased by 44 per cent during the first two months of fiscal year 2025 compared to $4.1 billion received during first two months of FY24.

Workers’ remittances inflows during August 2024 were mainly sourced from Saudi Arabia ($713.1 million), United Arab Emirates ($538.4 million), United Kingdom ($474.8 million) and United States of America ($322.4 million).
