ISLAMABAD – Finance Minister of Pakistan Muhammad Aurangzeb on Wednesday proposed increasing the minimum wage Rs32,000 to Rs37000 amid record inflation.
The adjustment in minimum salary is part of the government’s broader strategy to bolster the financial stability of government employees in the upcoming fiscal year. The federal cabinet approved budget proposals for the fiscal year 2024-25.
Salary Update Budget 2024-25
During meeting, the federal cabinet okayed green light to budget proposals for the upcoming financial year, sanctioning a significant 25 percent salary increase for government employees.
With proposed 25% salary increase for those in grades 1 to 16. and Officers in grades 17 to 22 are set to receive a 22% raise, while retired employees are looking at a 15% increase in their pensions.
