Pakistan continued their winning streak at the Men’s Hockey5s Asia Cup 2023 as they downed Bangladesh 15-6 in their second match in Salalah, Oman on Wednesday.
According to information received here, Paki-stan captain Rana Abdul Waheed Ashraf scored four goals, Arshad Liaquat and Muhammad Abdullah netted three goals each, Abdul Rehman scored two goals, while Ehtesham Aslam, Murtaza Yaqub and Zakaria Hayat scored one goal each.
Pakistan’s Arshad Liaquat was awarded the man of the match award for his standout performance.
In their opening match on Tuesday, Pakistan had defeated Japan 26-1. Pakistan trounced Japan 26-1 in their opening match of Asia Hockey5s World Cup Qualifier in Salalah, Oman, on Tuesday.
Captain Rana Waheed scored eight, meanwhile Arshad Liaquat notched up five goals for the winning side.
Mohammad Abdullah and Zikriya also scored hat-tricks for Pakistan. Abdul Wahab, Murtaza and Rahman scored two goals each, whereas Ihtisham Aslam scored one goal. Pakistan hockey team will face Bangladesh and India tomorrow in the tournament. The Pakistan squad is accompanied by head coach Olympian Wasim Feroze and manager Major Mu-hammad Shahnawaz Khan.—APP
