The Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) inaugurated an open-air gym with the support of China at the Pakistan-China Friendship Park on Kashmir Road
Karachi mayor Murtaza Wahab along with China’s consul general in Karachi Yang Yundong officially inaugurated the open-air gym, after which they signed a memorandum of understanding for cooperation between the Chinese Consulate and KMC.
Wahab said that China has always played a key role in the development and stability of Pakistan. He added that the people of Karachi express their gratitude to the Chinese government for establishing and providing modern facilities for the citizens at the park.
The Karachi mayor said that the Pakistan-China Economic Corridor (CPEC) has become an important milestone for Pakistan. He thanked the Chinese government for helping to stabilize the economy of Pakistan and creating employment opportunities for people in the country. He added that CPEC is a ‘game changer’ project in the region.
The Chinese consul general appreciated the KMC on establishing the Pakistan-China Friendship Park.
He said that such initiatives would bring the two countries closer, fostering cooperation between them in many fields. He commented: “Best wishes to the citizens and we hope that the citizens of Karachi will get better facilities in their daily life. The Chinese government will continue to cooperate with the KMC in this regard”.
