RAWALPINDI – Pakistani and Bahrain armed forces on Wednesday started military exercises in Khyber Pakhtunkhuwa to exchange best practices and tactics in sync with growing defence ties.
In a statement, Inter-Services Public Relations said the opening ceremony of the Joint Exercise named Al-BADAR-VIII was held at the National Counter Terrorism Centre, Pabbi in which Pakistan Army troops and Bahrain National Guards took part.
The counter-terrorism drills aimed to increase joint operational skills besides, harnessing military-to-military relations among the Muslim nations.
Forces of both sides displayed enthusiasm during the drills for benefiting from each other’s expertise and skills. Director General Military Training was the Chief Guest of the opening ceremony.
Al-BADAR is an annual bilateral joint exercise in Counter Terrorism domain between Pakistan and Bahrain.
The recent drills held weeks after Pakistan Army Chief General Asim Munir met King of Bahrain Sheikh Hamad bin Isa bin Salman Al-Khalifa and discussed military and security cooperation.
During meetings, both sides discuss matters of mutual interest including bilateral military and security cooperation.
Bahrain commended Pakistan Army’s achievements in the fight against terrorism and continued efforts for regional peace and stability.
