RAWALPINDI – Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir travelled to Bahrain where he interacted with King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, Crown Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa and other top civil-military officials, ISPR said.
A statement issued by Inter-Services Public Relations Pakistan said the country’s top civil-military officials shared matters of mutual interest with Bahrain’s King and Crown Prince.
During the interaction, Bahrain King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa conferred Military Medal Order on General Asim Munir in recognition of his efforts and contributions to the enhancement of bilateral ties between Islamabad and Manama.
In his official visit, COAS further called upon Field Marshal Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Commander of Bahrain Defence Forces and Commander of Bahrain National Guard General Shaikh Mohammad bin Isa Al Khalifa.

During the meetings, matters of mutual interest including bilateral military and security cooperation were discussed, ISPR said.
Bahrain’s King and army officials commended Pakistan Army’s achievements in the fight against terrorism and continued efforts for regional peace and stability.
Gen Asim also attended Raising Day of Bahrain National Guard as chief guest where he was warmly welcomed and given Guard of Honour and witnessed demonstration related to counter-terrorism training exercise.
