The Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) hosted its inaugural “DG PAA e-Kacheri,” an interactive online session streamed live on the PAA and PCAA Facebook pages. The event, led by Director General of PAA, Air Vice Marshal (AVM) Zeeshan Saeed SI(M), provided a platform for the public to raise concerns and receive updates on various developments across the country’s airports.

One of the key highlights of the session was the progress on the Sukkur Airport upgradation project. The Director of Planning and Development shared that the initial planning phase is complete, and land acquisition is currently underway.

Once complete, the upgraded airport will be capable of accommodating large aircraft like the Boeing 777, improving regional connectivity and offering enhanced aviation facilities for Sukkur residents. In addition to Sukkur, AVM Saeed outlined ongoing upgradation projects at major airports including Karachi, Lahore, and Skardu, along with more than 100 other development projects across the country.

These improvements, he emphasized, aim to enhance the overall passenger experience and raise the standard of airport operations nationwide. The session also addressed several public concerns. The DG responded to complaints regarding thefts and lost valuables, urging affected individuals to provide specific details to aid in investigations.

The issue of beggars at airports was raised, and the DG instructed airport management to take immediate action to ensure a more comfortable environment for passengers. He also reported improvements in baggage handling at Lahore’s Allama Iqbal International Airport, where baggage handling times are now compliant with IATA standards. In response to a complaint about subpar food quality at Islamabad International Airport’s canteen, AVM Saeed assured that corrective measures are being taken. Furthermore, he addressed the management of the Gandhara Art Gallery, highlighting ongoing efforts to improve the visitor experience. The DG concluded the session by emphasizing the PAA’s commitment to enhancing operational standards and ensuring that passenger satisfaction remains a top priority. The feedback from this session, he noted, would serve as a critical tool in shaping future improvements across Pakistan’s airports.
