United States based organization Overseas Pakistanis global foundation and Lahore chamber of commerce & industry have signed a memorandum of understanding for promoting business opportunities, secure investments, reduce risks and to facilitate each other for opening up new businesses in Pakistan and United States.
Through this understanding, overseas Pakistanis are being encouraged to bring their investments, start new businesses and establish industries with the help, guidance and expertise of Lahore chamber. This initiative is important for boosting local economy and creating job opportunities in a time when growth rate is predicted minus due to covid19 pandemic.
Irfan Iqbal Sheikh President Lahore Chamber of Commerce & Industry, President Overseas Global Foundation Shakeel, general secretary of foundation Rauf Bhalli, Khaliq Simab, Maher Bhutto, senior vice president Lahore chamber Ali Hussam Asghar and other businessmen were present at this occasion. Irfan Iqbal sheikh ensured for bringing new policy, procedures and projects which will be beneficial for overseas community.
A business facilitation desk will be made at chamber premises and both bodies will collaborate in research and development and exchanges of delegations. During meeting , Shakeel Sheikh suggested chamber memberships to overseas Pakistanis which was agreed in principal. Counsel of foundation Sheraz khan highlighted the legal and procedural challenges faced by overseas Pakistanis and Lahore chamber officials ensured their complete help in removing these difficulties.
