No Ramazan Bachat Bazars: Buzdar Pakistan has 7,773 confirmed Corona cases; 148 deaths

STAFF REPORTER ISLAMA BA D The nationwide tally of Covid-19 patients stood at 7,773 as more Coronvirus cases were confirmed on Saturday and eight more patients have succumbed to the virus in the past 24 hours. With more deaths tally has reached to 148. The government has reported new coronavirus cases reaching tally to 3,504 cases in Punjab, 2,355 in Sindh, 1,077 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 376 in Balochistan, 250 in GilgitBaltistan, 163 in Islamabad, and 48 in Azad Jammu and Kashmir. At least 1,832 coronavirus patients have recovered. Meanwhile, a second death from Islamabad has been reported by the deputy commissioner saying that a 72- year-old doctor has died from Covid-19. The deputy commissioner expressed his heartfelt condolences to the family. “We are arranging for the final rituals as per notified SOP,” he wrote, adding: “Stay safe every one. May Allah protect all of us.” On the other hand, the Punjab government on Saturday announced it will not set up Ramazan Bachat Bazaars throughout the province due to the coronavirus outbreak. In an announcement, Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar said the decision was taken keeping in mind the situation in the province. “We will provide financial aid to needy families through the Ramzan package,” Buzdar said. According to the spokesperson, 701 pilgrims, 1,353 people associated with Raiwind Tableeghi Ijtima, 91 prisoners and 1,256 others have tested positive for the virus. The provincial health department reported that 59 inmates in Lahore, 14 in Sialkot, nine in Dera Ghazi Khan, seven in Gujranwala and two in Bhakkar have tested positive for the virus. Islamabad reported nine fresh cases and five more were reported in Gilgit-Baltistan. According to the government portal, the nationwide tally stands at 7,481.
