NHA board approves construction of hub bridge, hub bypass

The Executive Board Meeting of the National Highway Authority has approved important measures on the direction of the Federal Minister of Communications and Postal Services Mr. Asad Mahmood.

The 403rd Meeting of the Executive Board of the National Highway Authority was held today under the chairmanship of the Chairman NHA Captain (R) Muhammad Khurram Agha at the head office of the Authority, in which in view of the recent heavy rains and floods across the country, the current situation of the NHA network was reviewed. According to the details, the NHA Executive Board approved the rebuilding of the Hub Bridge connecting Sindh with Balochistan.

It should be noted that the bridge on the Hub River collapsed yesterday due to heavy rains and floods. However, the traffic is continuing through the Hub Bypass. In addition, the NHA Executive Board meeting also approved the construction of Hub Bypass. The construction of Hub Bridge and Hub Bypass will benefit the people of Sindh and Balochistan. There will be direct benefits and new opportunities for socio-economic development.

On this occasion, Chairman National Highway Authority Captain (R) Muhammad Khurram Agha called for quick recovery of the damages caused by the rains and resulting floods. He also issued instructions to the staff deployed in the field of NHA to be alert in case of any emergency. He said, restoration of traffic on the network of national highways and motorways during the rainy season is our first priority and all resources will be used to achieve this goal.

Inspector General National Highways and Motorways Police Mr. Khalid Mehmood, Additional Secretary Finance Division Muhammad Tanveer Butt, Member I&M Planning Division Major General (R) Zahir Shah, Joint Secretary Ministry of Communications Usman Yaqub, Chief NTRC Hameed Akhtar, Vice President NESPAK Muhammad Daud Rana, Member Finance NHA AllahDad Khan, Member Planning NHA Mr. Asim Amin, Member Engineering-Coordination Arbab Ali Dhakan and Member Administration NHA Mr. Zahir Shah also participated.
