RAWALPINDI -New Zealand beat Pakistan by seven wickets in the third T20I at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium on Sunday.
Chasing a 179-run target for the victory, New Zealand crossed the finishing line in the penultimate over for the loss of three wickets to level the series 1-1. March Chapman was the top scorer with 87 runs followed by Dean Foxcroft who made 31. Tim Robinson scored 28 and Tim Seifert 21 runs. Abbas Afridi bagged two while Naseem Shah took one wicket. Mark Chapman was named player of the match.
After being asked to bat first by Kiwi skipper Michael Bracewell, Saim Ayub (32) and Babar Azam (37) provided a solid foundation with a 55-run opening partnership. Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan put on a 39-run stand for the second wicket to take the team score to 84 at the halfway stage. Shadab Khan (41) and Irfan Khan Niazi (30) helped the team to reach 178/4 in the allotted 20 0vers. Ish Sodhi bagged two wickets while Michael Bracewell and Jacob Duffy took one wicket each.
