ABU DHABI – A sigh of relief for government employees in Dubai, and other emirates in UAE as January 1, 2025 will be a public holiday for all workers.
Wednesday, the first day of the upcoming year, will be the maiden public holiday for UAE residents. UAE nationals will enjoy at least thirteen public holidays in 2025.

The Gulf nation made changes to public holidays, including Eid Al Fitr break. The first three days of Shawwal will be holidays, and if Ramadan lasts 30 days, the 30th day of Ramadan will also be a holiday, giving a 4-day break.
If Holy Months of Ramadan lasts 29 days, only first three days of Shawwal will be holidays for Eid festivities.
Arafah Day on Dhul Hijjah 9 and a three-day Eid Al Adha break from Dhul Hijjah 10-12 will provide a total of four days off for residents.
