ISLAMABAD – The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has expanded the imposition of property tax to all areas fall under the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT), including Bahria Town and Defence Housing Authority (DHA).
Previously, the authority collected the property tax from owners of commercial and residential buildings located in sectors only. Now, it has announced flat tax rate for the first time in a bid to boost revenue collection.
In latest development, the CDA has imposed property tax on houses located in DHA, Bahria Enclave and Bahria Town.
Property Tax on Houses in DHA and Bahria Town
The CDA will collect Rs27,000 in wake of property tax on a five-marla house whereas Rs298,000 will be collected on six-kanal houses.
CDA Increases Rates of Property Tax
The civic body will impose Rs24,000 per year tax on houses covering 140 yards area in Sector E-11, model towns and PHA Kurri Housing scheme. The tax would be Rs200,000 on houses constructed on 4,000 yards plot.
In Park Enclave, the authority would receive Rs25,000 tax on house measuring 140 yards, while it would be Rs227,000 on houses constructed on plot measuring 2000 yards.
In Gulberg, the minimum and maximum property tax amount for houses has been fixed at Rs20,000 and Rs170,000, respectively. Following are the taxes for different sectors:
