LAHORE – Jason Gillespie, the head coach of Pakistan’s red ball team, said that his priorities for the team are consistency and discipline.
Gillespie expressed his commitment to transforming Pakistan into a team that Pakistani fans can be proud of.
He expressed these words during an interview to a local private TV on Tuesday.
Gillespie said he is prepared to take on the role of a selector in addition to being the head coach, describing it as a new experience. He emphasized that if resting a player is in their best interest, then they would be given rest.
He acknowledged the high expectations placed on the Pakistan team, saying that he is realistic about the challenges ahead. His goal is to minimize these obstacles.
Gillespie highlighted that the most crucial elements for the team’s success are consistency and discipline, and these would be prioritized during his tenure.
He added that every team plays cricket according to its abilities, and he planed to discuss with the players the brand of cricket they aim to play.
