ISLAMABAD – Makeup, perfumes and other cosmetic items will go up in Pakistan, start from July 1, as the federal government has imposed or increased regulatory duty on various imported items.
The Federal Board of Revenue has issued the SRO.928(I)/2024 in supersession of its previous SRO 966(l)12022 to levy regulatory duty on import of the goods, including cosmetics.
The top tax authority has imposed 55% regulatory duty on imported cosmetics items, which include nail paints, blushers, and skin base.
It has also jacked up the regulatory duty on perfumes and sprays to 20% while imported shaving cream, soap would subject to 50% regulatory duty.
Furthermore, the FBR has increased the duty on imported jewellery to 45%, besides hiking tax on imported jackets, overcoat, trousers, shirts and other items.
Moreover, oral or dental hygiene would be subject to 50% regulatory duty, cheese and curd 25%, potatoes, other vegetables and mixture of vegetables 50-55%, sugar confectionery (including white chocolate) 40%, tobacco, partly or wholly stemmed or stripped 50%, and dog or cat food 50% under the new SRO.
Nail Polish, Skin Foundation Cream New Price From July 1
As the government has hiked regulatory duty on imported cosmetics, the prices of nail polish, skin foundation creams and other imported items will determined in line of it .
