Central Police Office Karachi has unveiled a new Digital Training Center in Block A of the School of Finance/Training and Information Technology. The inauguration was led by Inspector General of Sindh Police, Ghulam NabiMemon, who emphasized the importance of modern training for law enforcement personnel.
The event was attended by key officials, including the Additional IG Training, Additional IG Operations Sindh, DIG Training, former Senior Police Officer SaleemWahidi, and others. During the opening, the DIG Training Sindh provided a briefing on the establishment of the Digital Training Block and its objectives. The new training center aims to offer opportunities for courses to personnel meeting fitness standards, aligning with the implementation of the new medical policy. Officers and staff who are physically fit will be selected for training, ensuring that only those capable of handling rigorous training programs participate.
Furthermore, successful candidates in departmental courses will have their data stored in the new training block, while records of those attending special courses both domestically and internationally will also be maintained. The curriculum for the training centers is being modernized to meet contemporary needs. Inspector General Memon toured various offices established within the School of Finance/Training, underscoring the need to strengthen the quality of police training further. He called for the deployment of experienced officers with good reputations across all training centers. In his address, Memon insisted that only officers and personnel who are physically fit and in good health should be selected for courses. He also highlighted the importance of reviewing officers’ service records before their selection for training programs.
To enhance the quality of training, the IG proposed the establishment of criteria for appointing principals at training centers. He affirmed that the benefits of high-quality and standard training would ultimately be reflected in field policing. Memon commended the DIG Training and their team for their efforts in launching the new Digital Training Block, recognizing their commitment to improving police training standards.
