ISLAMABAD – The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) on Friday revealed that it would hear requests of the discos for more revenue worth Rs967 billion through the electricity consumers.
The decision came as NEPRA received requests from six distribution companies outlining their revenue requirements for the upcoming fiscal year.
The requests, submitted by various distribution entities, mentioned the growing financial strain within the power sector.
GEPCO leads the list with a request for Rs376 billion followed by MEPCO with 160 billion rupees.
Besides it, FESCO requested Rs236 billion , TESCO Rs92 billion and PESCO Rs67 billion. SEPCO rounds off the list with a request for Rs35.70 billion.
NEPRA has scheduled a hearing on April 2nd to deliberate on the requests put forth by the electricity distribution companies.
