The NED University and Sir Syed University of Engineering & Technology held a joint meeting at the NED campus. Detailed discussions regarding effective bilateral relationship in the field of engineering sciences and technology and ways to improve faculty development were held.
The meeting was attended by the Sir Syed University of Engineering & Technology officials i.e. the Registrar Syed Sarfraz Ali, Dean Basic and Applied Sciences, Prof. Dr. Aqeel ur Rehman, Director ORIC, Prof. Dr. Rabia Noor Enam, Director Finance, Munaf Advani, Director QEC, Dr. Akhtar Nadyme, Controller Examination, Roshan Zameer, etc., while the members of NED team included Pro Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhammad Tufail, Dean of Civil Engineering Prof. Dr. Asad-ur-Rehman Khan and Electrical Engineering Prof. Dr. Saad Ahmed Qazi, Director Finance, Director IT, Controller Examinations and the Technical Assistant to the Vice Chancellor NED.
Vice-Chancellor, NED University, Prof. Dr. Sarosh Hashmat Lodhi welcomed the Sir Syed University of Engineering & Technology team and appreciated the initiative taken by the Sir Syed University to extend cooperation in the field of engineering sciences & technology and sharing of resources.
Vice-Chancellor Sir Syed University of Engineering & Technology, Prof. Dr. Vali Uddin, thanked the Vice-Chancellor NED, Prof. Dr. Sarosh Lodhi for providing an opportunity to visit NED and to discuss the growth of knowledge-based education and advancement of technology.
He was of the view that the universities must provide their students with an environment conducive for studies. Dr. Vali observed that the public and private sector universities are facing several common issues that need to be addressed. Universities must be autonomous to cope with administrative and managerial challenges. He stressed the need to prepare the graduates to shoulder the future responsibilities of technical advancement of Pakistan.
On the auspicious occasion, NED Team gave a detailed presentation on the Campus Management System that is functional at the NED Campus. The system included a Financial Module, Examination Module, Library Research, Learning Management System, Research Journal, student and Faculty portal, etc.
The meeting aimed to discover the options and opportunities to further improve the quality of technology-based higher education so that the graduates are skilled enough for employability.
In the end, the Vice-Chancellor NED, Prof. Dr. Sarosh Lodhi declared that this meeting is of immense importance whereby two big engineering universities of Karachi are joining hands for improvement of Engineering and Sciences.
