Chairman of the National Democratic Movement (NDM) and former member of the National Assembly Mohsin Dawar, and a leader of the JUI-F Wednesday survived attempts on their lives in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s two districts. The vehicles of the two leaders Mohsin Dawar and JUI F nominated candidate for Dir Qari Khairullah were ambushed in their home towns North Waziristan and Dir districts respectively.
According to initial reports, Mohsin Dawar was in Tappi village of North Waziristan for his electioneering campaign when unidentified gunmen attacked his vehicle with sophisticated weapons.
“Unknown assailants open multiple bullets on the rear mirror of the former MNA Dawar who was in Northern Waziristan for his election campaign. Mohsin Dawar remained unhurt as his vehicle was bulletproof” sources said. Soon after the incident, security forces personnel arrived on the scene, and started the hunt for the arrest of culprits.
MohsinDawar, formerly a central leader of the PakhtunTahaffuz Movement (PTM), which was unregistered with the Election Commission of Pakistan, had won the 2018 general elections as an independent candidate. Later, he parted ways with PTM and formed his own political party titled National Democratic Movement.
