LAHORE – Actress and model Nazish Jahangir’s bail application has been rejected by a local court over her absence in a fraud case.
The petition was filed in response to allegations of fraud made by Aswad Haroon, another Pakistani actor who moved court for cheating and dishonest property inducement.
The court cited non-prosecution for dismissal, noting that no representatives appeared on Jahangir’s behalf despite several attempts to reach her. Jahangir had claimed that the FIR was filed with malicious intent to humiliate and harass her.
The Berukhi star is accused of borrowing Aswad Haroon’s vehicle and Rs25lac for a project but failing to return them despite multiple attempts.
In her petition, Nazia said her arrest would lead to public disgrace, prompting her request for bail. Aswad said Nazish agreed to meet him at a farmhouse to return the vehicle documents but failed to show up. Instead, she sent a man Sikandar Khan, who hurled threats.
The complainant called on police to take action to recover his belongings and ensure his protection.
