LAHORE – Pakistani citizens can get their Smart National Identity Cards renewed well time before the expiry date or immediately after the expiry so they can avail various services offered by the government and private departments.
National Database Registration Authority (Nadra) is the competent authority to issue or renew the ID cards. Applicants can visit any nearby Nadra office or use PAK ID app to apply for the renewal of the identity card.
With an expired ID card, the citizens are denied bank services, buying property or even they cannot apply for the job.
The unique 13 digit identification number is recognized all over the country. It is the first requirement of individuals as it is mandatory to obtain documents like license, NTN, bank account, passport, cellular connection etc.
Smart ID Card Renewal Fee in May 2024
As of May 2024, the fee structure for renewal of the Smart National Identity Card (SNIC) stands unchanged. The normal fee for Smart NIC stands at Rs750, whereas urgent fee is Rs1,500 and executive fee for renewal services is Rs2,500.
The ID card is issued for with 10 years validity. Normal/Urgent/Executive category timeline will start after approval of case by the case and fee mentioned above are exclusive of delivery charges.
