ISLAMABAD – National Database Registration Authority (NADRA) Chairman Lt General Munir Afsar has dismissed a director general from service for holding fake educational degree.
Zulfiqar Ahmed, who was serving as DG Sargodha, has been removed after his BBA degree found fake during an investigation.
Upon NADRA’s request, the Higher Education Commission (HEC) conducted an inquiry and confirmed the information obtained by authority regarding the degree of the ousted DG.
It was found that the name of the college mentioned on the BBA degree was actually different at the time of its issuance.
The Islamabad High Court (IHC) also upheld HEC’s decision to revoke the equivalence of the degree. In response to NADRA’s show-cause notice, Zulfiqar Ahmad failed to provide a satisfactory answer.
The NADRA chairman initiated disciplinary action against Zulfiqar Ahmed for the unsatisfactory response to the show-cause notice.
NADRA field operations are controlled through eight Regional Headquarters. Each Region is controlled by Director General who is directly reporting to senior management of NADRA. Main responsibility of Regional DGs is to ensure that all applicants are handled with utmost customer care without compromising NADRA’s Registration rules/regulations/SOPs.
