The environs of Lahore’s NAB office turned into a battle field when former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s daughter and PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz tried to appear before the Bureau. During the appearance, there was a scuffle among the workers.
NAB authorities decided to register an FIR against the leaders and workers of PML-N for illegal action and interference in the government working.
As per details as soon as Maryam Nawaz reached outside the NAB office, the situation became tense when N-League workers started pelting stones at police officials standing there.
On the occasion of her appearance, Maryam Nawaz while talking to the workers informally said that nothing was gained before by making a fake case and nothing will be gained now. I am not afraid, no matter how much the government tries such tactics. My father and I stand by our position. A fake land case has been registered against me. A year ago, on August 8, NAB arrested me from Court Lakhpat Jail. Maryam Nawaz uploaded a video of throwing stones at her car on Twitter.
Maryam Nawaz has been directed to submit details about the land. Sources said that Maryam Nawaz has been asked where the money came from to buy the land, it has been discovered that the purchase of land how much tax and how much duty has been paid on it? If any land out of 1400 kanals has been sold, details of it should also be provided. It should be stated for what purpose the acquired land is being used. Then it is being used for agricultural cultivation.
According to sources, Maryam Nawaz is accused of illegally buying land in Raiwind at very cheap price. The Sharif family bought 3568 kanals of land in 2013 against the law. The
name was changed to 1936 Kanal.
Sources said that 12 acres of land were transferred in the name of Nawaz Sharif and Shahbaz Sharif and the rules and regulations of LDA were ignored in the transfer of land. The master plan was changed to declare the entire area around the Sharif family land as Greenland, which was done to stop construction around the Sharif family land.
After the approval of Chairman NAB Justice Javed Iqbal, it was decided to register a case of illegal action of PML-N leaders and workers and interference in the government work.
According to a statement issued by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB), Maryam Nawaz was summoned by the NAB in Lahore to know her stance in her personal capacity. Instead demonstrators pelted Bureau office. According to the NAB spokesperson, for the first time in the 20-year tenure of the NAB, a constitutional and national body has been treated in this manner. In addition to breaking the windows and throwing stones at the NAB building, the NAB staff was also injured.
