The National Accountability Bureau has for the third time summoned Pakistan Muslim League-N president and opposition leader Shahbaz Sharif in the case pertaining to possession of assets beyond means.
After failing to appear twice before, the opposition leader has been directed to appear in court today. According to sources, Shahbaz has been directed to appear along with the required documents at noon today.
Earlier, the PML-N president had submitted the required documents through his counsel but the bureau was not satisfied with the reply.
In a declaration, NAB claimed that according to the law, Shahbaz Sharif should appear and provide the required information in person, and should cooperate with the corruption watchdog in the ongoing investigation against him.
The PML-N president had to appear before the CIT at its Lahore Office. The CIT had asked Shahbaz Sharif to submit bank details from 2005 to 2007.
