ISLAMABAD – Murree, Pakistan’s famous hill station and resort town, saw influx of tourists over the weekend who enjoyed season’s first snowfall.

Amid the extreme weather conditions, Civil Defense volunteers had rescue drill for tourists, DG PDMA personally visited area to oversee security and delivered security equipment to the local authorities.
To avoid any tragedy, authorities deployed additional traffic wardens. Meanwhile, Emergency Service Rescue-1122 is fully active and providing timely assistance during the ongoing snowfall in Murree.
Rescue personnel are clearing roads after first snowfall, and facilitation Centers have been established at over a dozen spots for information and guidance.
Murree Weather Update
As per Pakistan Meteorological Department PMD latest advisory, the weather in Murree will remain partly cloudy during next 24 hours. The temperature is expected to drop to -1 on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Meanwhile, Islamabad and Rawalpindi also saw coldest day of season on Monday, with temperatures dropping to freezing point. Met Office predicts cold wave will persist across Pakistan until December 14, bringing snow to hilly areas and frost to parts of Islamabad, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Upper Punjab.
The minimum temperature in Islamabad and Rawalpindi is expected to remain between -1°C and 1°C. Leh recorded the coldest temperature at -13°C, while other regions like Gupis, Skardu, and Kalat also saw sub-zero temperatures.
