Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, on National Working Women’s Day, celebrated the pivotal role of women in the province’s economy and democracy. He praised their contributions to national development, emphasizing the Sindh government’s commitment to recognizing and supporting working women. Shah asserted that Sindh leads the way in initiatives for women’s empowerment. He acknowledged Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto’s pioneering role in establishing the First Women Bank and highlighted ongoing efforts by the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) to uplift women. These include the distribution of agricultural land, provision of housing ownership certificates, and programs like the Benazir Income Support Program.
The Chief Minister pointed to the launch of the Pink Bus service, aimed at ensuring safer transportation for women, as a key achievement.
Additionally, he mentioned the appointment of a dedicated Ombudsperson to safeguard the rights of working women and address workplace challenges. CM Shah also noted the government’s focus on expanding employment opportunities for women, underlining its commitment to fostering a secure and empowering environment for them.
