More rains, gusty winds likely in Lahore, parts of Punjab

LAHORE – More rains and gusty winds are likely in Lahore and parts of Punjab on Tuesday night, Wednesday and Thursday.

Per the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), a westerly wave prevails over Pakistan’s upper and central parts.

Under these weather conditions, more rain-wind/thunderstorms are likely in Rawalpindi, Murree, Galyat, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Mandi Bahauddin, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Hafizabad, Sialkot, Narowal, Lahore, Kasur, Okara, Sheikhupura, Faisalabad, Toba Tek Singh, Jhang, Khushab, Sargodha and Mianwali on Tuesday night and the following two days. Dust-raising winds are likely in Multan, Bahawalpur and Dera Ghazi Khan.

Lahore’s maximum temperatures will likely stay between 38-40°C on Wednesday and 36-38°C on Thursday.

Meanwhile, hot and dry prevailed in most parts of the province during the last 24 hours. However, isolated rain-wind/thunderstorms occurred in parts of Punjab.

DG Khan and Bahawalnagar remained the hottest places in the province where the maximum temperature was recorded at 45°C. Maximum temperature in Rahim Yar Khan, Kot Addu, Khanpur and Khanewal was recorded at 44°C.

In Lahore, the maximum temperature was recorded at 41°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 25 per cent.
