ISLAMABAD – More rain-wind/thunderstorms are expected in Islamabad, Rawalpindi and parts of Pakistan on Friday night and Saturday.
Per the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), continental air prevails over most parts of Pakistan. A shallow westerly prevails over upper parts of the country.
Under these conditions, more rain-wind/thunderstorms are likely in the twin cities and at isolated places in Potohar region, northeast Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan and northeast/south Balochistan on Friday night and Saturday. Hot and dry weather is expected elsewhere in the country.
Islamabad’s maximum temperatures will likely stay between 39-41°C on Saturday and 38-40°C on Sunday.
Rawalpindi’s maximum temperatures will likely stay between 40-42°C on Saturday and 39-41°C on Sunday.
Meanwhile, hot and dry prevailed in the most parts of the country during the last 24 hours. Extremely hot weather prevailed in the southern/central parts. Light rain occurred in the twin cities and at isolated places in Kashmir, Pothohar Region, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan and Lasbella.

Sibbi remained the hottest place in the country where the maximum temperature was recorded at 47°C. The maximum temperature in Bhakkar, Joharabad and Jacobabad was recorded at 46°C, Dadu, Gujranwala, Mandi Bahauddin, Nokkundi and Sargodha at 45°C.
In Islamabad, the maximum temperature was recorded at 43°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 21 per cent.
In Rawalpindi, the maximum temperature was recorded at 41°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 17 per cent.
